The Itinerary
Your chauffeur-guide welcomes you at the airport and transfers you to Negombo or Colombo. The first day is kept light so you can rest before the touring and safaris begin.
You travel inland to the Cultural Triangle, the gateway to Sri Lanka’s best-known elephant safari region, arriving with time to settle in before an early start the next day.
A relaxed morning can include Sigiriya Rock Fortress or quieter Pidurangala, followed by a village experience with a canoe or cart ride and a home-cooked lunch.
In the afternoon, a jeep safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla looks for wild elephants, with the chosen park depending on the season and where elephants are gathering.
