The Itinerary
Your chauffeur-guide meets you at the airport and transfers you to Negombo or Colombo. The first day is kept light so you can rest before the cultural touring begins.
You travel north to Anuradhapura, the island’s first great capital, settling into your hotel with time to relax before exploring the sacred city.
A full day at Anuradhapura — its great dagobas, the sacred Bodhi tree, monastery ruins, and ancient reservoirs — and the hilltop monastery of Mihintale, where Buddhism was first brought to the island.
